Progress 8 Score

Attainment 8 Score

Attainment 8 is a measure of a student’s average achievement across eight key GCSE subjects, including English and Maths (which are double weighted), three EBacc subjects, and three others. It reflects overall academic performance at the end of secondary school and is used to compare achievement across schools and students.

Entering EBacc

Entering EBacc refers to the percentage of students who are entered for GCSEs in all the subjects that make up the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) — English, Maths, Science, a language, and either History or Geography. EBacc Average Score

The EBacc Average Score measures the average point score per student across the five pillars of the English Baccalaureate: English, Maths, Science, a language, and either History or Geography. It reflects how well students perform in these core academic subjects.
